Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created and hosted by The Broke and the Bookish
I am still working on my blog -- so I often feel like a new blogger. But these are my thoughts:
- A unique opinion in the writing.
- Concise content: Rambling is OK every once in a while but usually I, and many others according to surveys, only have a few minutes.
- Easy to read: Artistic vision is great but make sure it doesn't distract from the writing (leave your background in the Background).
- Have your own touch -- deliver more than facts -- be funny or ranty or inquisitive or whoever you are, just give people something to relate to.
- Read and take hint from as many TTT suggestions today from bloggers you like/admire.
- Be open to suggestion, and (I know it's hard) criticism. Some people are just mean, some are helpful, some are both.
Hah, I have 6 Tips today, too! *grin*
ReplyDeleteI especially like (6) - Aactually thought about getting a Ask and Answer script, so that people could (anonymously) tell me what they didn't like without fearing my wrath. :'D

I need to work on being more concise. I'm wayyy to overly verbose sometimes, and I have a hard time getting my thoughts down in a short, direct manner. Great tips!

Short and nice tips. Great! :)

I agree with you on the rambling. I get frustrated sometimes when I see that a review is really, really long. Number 6 is something that is an especially hard, but necessary, part to everything.
ReplyDeleteTerrific tips! Thanks so much for sharing them.

I like (6) too. Blogging is always a learning process I think and there's always something out there that you can learn. Constructive criticism can be very helpful to improving the look and content on any blog.
ReplyDeleteI was a 6-tipper as well! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I like that your point out that short is sweet... it takes a lot of editing for me to not ramble on!!
ReplyDeleteI like your first point most. So many people express generic opinions on their blogs...
